I write novels, short stories, poetry and non-fiction. My poetry has been published in various magazines such as The Leopard and Scottish Memories magazines and in an anthology called Limerick Nation. I have also had my work highly commended in competitions.
My non-fiction is historical with a local Scottish slant. The true story of Alex Ritchie, Hogmanay on Ice is about a man local to the area where I live who went whaling in the early years of the twentieth century. Shipwrecked in the Arctic he spent almost two years with the Inuit of Northern Canada.
Baggywrinkle, my first novel, is as much a story about relationships as a thoroughly cracking adventure … with a little fantasy thrown in.
I am Scottish and spent my childhood haunting the woods, glens and seashore around Aberdeenshire.
